Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Aethex website at aethexai.net, our public documentation, and any evaluation sandbox we make available. Paid use of the Aethex API is governed by a separate written agreement; where that agreement conflicts with these terms, that agreement prevails.

1. What Aethex is

Aethex is a deterministic verification layer for automated and AI-driven decisions. It returns a verdict together with the rule that produced it. Aethex is a decision-support tool. It does not provide legal, regulatory, or compliance advice, and it does not replace the judgement of a qualified compliance professional or the obligations of a regulated entity.

2. Evaluation and sandbox use

Any sandbox or demonstration environment is provided for evaluation only. It is offered as-is, may change or be withdrawn without notice, and must not be used for production decision-making. Do not submit personal data, customer records, or confidential information to the sandbox.

3. Acceptable use

Do not use the service unlawfully, or to facilitate unlawful activity.
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure.
Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the service.
Do not submit personal data to evaluation environments.
Do not resell or redistribute access without our written agreement.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the events and information you submit, for holding any rights necessary to submit them, and for the decisions you take. Regulatory obligations remain yours: a verdict from Aethex supports your decision-making and documentation, but it does not discharge any duty you owe to a regulator or to your customers.

5. Intellectual property

Aethex, its engines, rule sets, documentation, and brand remain our property. You retain all rights in the data you submit. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of either party's intellectual property to the other.

6. Availability

We aim for reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the website, documentation, or sandbox. Service levels, if any, are set out in a customer agreement.

7. Disclaimers

Except as expressly stated in a signed customer agreement, the website, documentation, and sandbox are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenues, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the website, documentation, or sandbox.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
